I had this idea of a ballroom area where a spooky waltz would play so I started working on that. As I was writing the song I thought it would be fun to suddenly switch to the major key for a bit to then go back to the spooky minor key again. That's where the idea of a time-shifting ballroom came to me.
When you enter the ballroom is in ruins while the music plays the spooky waltz but then... Suddenly when the major section arrives, the ballroom travels back in time to when Dracula still had his wife Sophia and people danced happily in the ballroom. You'd be safe during that part of the song, but not long after, everything goes back to ruins and ghosts attack again.

One of my absolute favourite albums of all time, incredible interpretation and musicianship throughout. Patrick Bartley's playing on Team Galactic HQ is phenomenal, but the power and energy of the Spear Pillar Suite remains my favourite. Anytime I have to do a long study session, this is my go to album :) greenygrey
