I was sitting at the piano one night, and started messing around with what became the never ending piano loop of this piece. Playing it over and over made me feel like it would fit nicely in the opening sequence of a game or movie set in a Bloodborne-like town.

I saw the camera going down in the city from the sky, a rainy night, people are scared of something and running in different directions. Then when the ambient strings start playing you'd see something like "X Production presents..." slowly fade in on screen followed by the title of the game. Very cinematic but that's what drove me to write this one.

One of my absolute favourite albums of all time, incredible interpretation and musicianship throughout. Patrick Bartley's playing on Team Galactic HQ is phenomenal, but the power and energy of the Spear Pillar Suite remains my favourite. Anytime I have to do a long study session, this is my go to album :) greenygrey
